From Baby To Little Lady

The one thing that most inspired everyone about you, was your will to be a winner, to survive, your spirit, and your seemingly endless love of life. No matter what happened to you, you were back on your feet in no time.

You always gave me a smile when I needed it most, you always touched my heart when I was down. It was like you were not only doing this battle for yourself, but for me as well. It should not have been this way, mommy should have been the strong one, I was much weaker than you, not knowing what would happen, if I was going to lose you or not. You seemed to know that I needed your help in being strong for both of us.

When you went through your transplant, the doctors, nurses and other parents were amazed and inspired by your quick comeback. You gave the other parents whose children were about to go through the same proceedure the hope and comfort they needed.

Your prognosis was not very good, because your tumor was found to be more aggressive than they had hoped, but you looked that monster in the face, took all it had to give you and then along with your will, determination, and strength, you won the battle sweetheart, we reached our goal of REMISSION in September 1998.

Thank you my dear Jessica for making me a stronger person, you helped mold the person I am today and I hold no one higher in esteem and pride than you.

It is because of you that I have learned to live one day at a time and it is God's will that I have another day to look at your precious face and your beautiful smile.
